The Toldo Foundation has been blazing a path as a philanthropic leader in Windsor-Essex since it was established by Anthony P. Toldo in 1996.

The Foundation’s first gift was a $1-millon donation towards construction of a cancer clinic that continues to operate today at the Metropolitan Campus of the Windsor Regional Hospital.  A prostate cancer survivor, this gift reflected Mr. Toldo’s belief that the residents of Windsor-Essex should be able to receive cancer treatment locally in a new and modern setting.

At the time, The Toldo Foundation’s gift to the Windsor Essex Cancer Centre Foundation was the largest charitable donation ever made in the Windsor region.  Moreover, it was the start of a burgeoning philanthropic spirit that emanates throughout the community to this day.

Since its inception, The Toldo Foundation has maintained its focus on the improvement of communities. It has donated millions of dollars to charitable causes in the areas of health and medicine, education and the arts. The Foundation continues to inspire others to give as well, leading the way with innovative philanthropic approaches and new partnerships.
